WACO, Texas The Baylor Bears lost their final home game of the season to Iowa State, 23-13,. That means no home wins for the Bears for the first time in 48 years.
Baylor finishes the home slate 0-6, failing to win at home for the first time since their winless 1969 campaign.
Baylor briefly led the Cyclones. A big run by Jamychal Hasty set up a touchdown pass from Charlie Brewer to Ish Wainwright in the first quarter to put Baylor up 7-0. It was just the second time this season Baylor has scored on their opening drive of a football game.
Iowa State answered with a 36 yard touchdown pass from Zeb Noland to Allen Lazard. Iowa State would score on another pass play in the second quarter when Noland hit Hakeem Butler to build the lead to 17-10 at halftime.
In the second half the two teams traded field goals and neither team found the end zone. Iowa State's running game put the game away 23-13 to push the Bears to 1-10 on the season with one road game remaining.
The Bears will travel to TCU on Friday to face the Horned Frogs in their final game of the 2017 season. That game will kick off at 11am.
