The McLennan Community College men’s basketball team is steadily climbing in the NJCAA Division I Poll and broke into the top-10 today. The Highlanders are 17-0 on the season and moved up one spot from 11th to 10th in the rankings this week.
South Plains (Texas), a Region V opponent for McLennan, continues to hold the top spot, followed by Hutchinson (Kansas) in second and Georgia Highlands in third. Moberly Area (Missouri) and San Jacinto (Texas) round out the top five. Tyler (13th) and Odessa (16th) are the only other Texas schools in the rankings. Trinity Valley is receiving votes.
The Highlanders host Concordia University JV at 6 p.m. Wednesday in a final tuneup before opening conference play at 4 p.m. Saturday in Ranger.
