Midway beats Ellison to finish perfect regular season

HEWITT, Texas The Midway Panthers beat Ellison 63-28 Thursday night to finish off a perfect 10-0 regular season.

Tanner Mordecai put on a tremendous show for the home crowd Thursday in the win. Mordecai threw for over 400 yards and 5 touchdowns. He also ran for a pair of touchdowns, accounting for a total of 7 on the night.
His favorite target was C.J. Williams who caught a pair of first half touchdowns.

Midway's defense didn't allow a single point in the second half. The Panthers gave up 28 first half points and the game was close throughout the first half, but in the second half the Panther defense shut the door on Ellison to secure the 63-28 win.

Midway finishes the regular season 10-0 and with a top seed in District 8-6A heading into the playoffs where they'll meet Grand Prairie next week.

Ellison will finish third in the district.
