Midway's Mordecai named 6A offensive player of the year

HEWITT, Texas Tanner Mordecai is having a big week and it got better on Thursday when the Midway QB was named 6A state offensive player of the year and the first team All-State quarterback.

Mordecai has had a huge year leading 15-0 Midway to the state championship round. Plus, he signed his national letter of intent to Oklahoma on Wednesday. Now, he's got a state offensive player of the year award to add to all the others.

In the regular season, Mordecai threw 46 touchdowns and ran for another 12. He threw for almost 3000 yards and ran for almost 1000 more. He has added to those impressive numbers with some big games in the postseason.
