Realignment will move a few Central Texas teams

The UIL has announced enrollment numbers and classifications for the 2018-2020 school years and a few Central Texas teams will be moving.

First the biggest schools on the move will be Temple and Waco who will both move up to the 6A level. That could mean some major district realignment as they join the Killeen schools, Belton, and Midway in our area at the 6A level.

We now have only a single 5A team in our area, that's University. The Trojans will play in 5A division 2.

The 4A and 3A teams in our area largely stay put with the exception of Marlin and Bruceville-Eddy who will both be moving down to the 2A level. Both have played the last two seasons in District 12-3A.

Mart is moving a little bit. The Panthers go from a 2A division 1 team to a division 2 team. That likely puts them in a new district away from rivals Riesel, Axtell, and Bosqueville who are all in division 1.
