Richland Springs wins 2nd straight state championship

The Richland Springs Coyotes won their second straight state championship Wednesday, beating Balmorhea 96-50 at AT&T Stadium.

Walker Tippie and the Richland Springs Coyotes ran the ball very well, Walker scored 8 rushing touchdowns and dominated with big runs throughout the 2nd and third quarters in particular. He finished with 414 rushing yards in the game.

The Coyotes led by 10 at the half and put the game out of reach in the 3rd quarter while scoring points quickly and defensively keeping Balmorhea out of the end zone in the quarter.

The state championship is the 8th in Richland Springs' program history and the 2nd straight for the Coyotes.
