The Copperas Cove Bulldawgs are used to playing in the postseason. That's why 2016 was different than most years.
The Bulldawgs went 4-5 and missed out on the postseason for the first time since 2003.
But don't think that Copperas Cove is dwelling on last season. While they use the disappointment as motivation, they're solely focused on making 2017 a year to remember.
"Last year we wanted to do better. We did the best we could, so we're going to let that go," said head coach Jack Welch.
"But I will say this: We're not predicted to do very well this year, and that doesn't set right with us, so we've gotta go out here and explain to people that we ought to be ranked a little higher. And the only way you can explain that to them is on the field."
Welch expects the 'Dawgs to be lead by a strong offense, which features a potent running attack. If that clicks and a young defense plays to its potential, watch out for Copperas Cove.
