HOUSTON, Texas The Temple girls beat one of the top teams in the state and one of the top players in the state Friday night to keep their playoff run alive, besting Barbers Hill 78-74 in overtime.
The Tem-Cats were trailing in the second half of the game and had to rally from behind to get the win. Temple's girls were down 7 with about a minute to play in the game. They scored 4 quick points to cut that lead to just 3. Then, in the final seconds, Breyaunna Sigler hit a game-tying three to send the game into overtime.
In overtime the Tem-Cats kept momentum on their side and were able to pull ahead and eventually get the win 78-74.
The victory puts Temple in the Regional Championship game Saturday at 1pm against Crosby. With a win in that game the Tem-Cats will advance to San Antonio and the state's final four next week.
