UMHB falls to Mount Union in National Championship game

SALEM, Virginia The UMHB football team fell to Mount Union 12-0 in the Stagg Bowl, falling one win shy of a second straight national championship.

The Cru failed to generate any offense on a cold and blustery night. The Mount Union defense played very well to keep UMHB off the scoreboard. The Raiders' pass rush was outstanding and UMHB quarterbacks were sacked a number of times including once for a safety.

The Cru defense matched Mount Union most of the night, the Cru dominated at the line of scrimmage on the defensive side of the ball. The only TD of the game came on a long throw from Mount Union quarterback D'Angelo Fulford to Justin Hill who made a great catch over two Cru defenders.

The loss snaps UMHB's 29-game winning streak. This is the second time the Cru have finished as the runner-up in the country.
