BELTON, Texas (KWTX) Prior to 2016, the UMHB Crusaders literally could not win against the Linfield Wildcats.
But in two of UMHB's game leading to an eventual national championship, the Cru took down Linfield twice in Belton for the program's first-ever wins against the Wildcats in six tries.
In the seventh meeting, UMHB will be aiming for the first-ever road win against Linfield.
"I love that we schedule teams like this in non-conference," senior offensive lineman Corbin Campitelli said. "It really helps us toward the end of the season getting a game like this under our belts. A team like this, you're going to see more people like them in the playoffs. It always helps playing someone like this early in the season."
"This would be the first time that we'd go out there and win," head coach Pete Fredenburg said. "It's really important that we break that because we've been out there twice and did not play well there either time."
