30 Texas Children Drowned In June; Parents Urged To Watch Kids Closely
June was the worst month for child drownings in Texas since the state began counting and officials are urging parents to keep a close eye on children around water over the holiday weekend.

I don't know about teaching these toddlers to swim. I just think they are too young at 2,3,4,5 to be trying to swim. Once they learn, parents get this false security thinking the kid is an expert swimmer and the next thing you know an accident happens.

You have to be really stupid to own a pool and leave your kids unsupervised, especially if you're also stupid enough to not have taught them how to swim...

All kids should learn to swim. A lot of kids are never taught and you'll find that most young drowning victims cannot swim..it only takes a few inches of water to drown in. Teach your kids to swim!!!

And at least 2 almost drowned in Killeen. So for all you people who want to defend parents for these "honest mistakes", STFU. Parents. Pay Attention to your kids....
