GATESVILLE (February 3, 2010)-=A Copperas Cove man was in Coryell County jail Wednesday awaiting transfer to state prison after he pleaded guilty Monday to sexually assault of a child in an incident involving a Copperas Cove girl.

State District Judge Trent Ferrell sentenced Rodolfo Ruiz, 32, to a 10-year term in state prison.

Ruiz was arrested in 2008 after a 13-year-old Copperas Cove girl told police he had sexually assaulted her, Copperas Cove police Lt. Danny Austin said.

Ruiz had been free on bond up until he made his appearance in court on Monday.

I am very concerned parent. I watched the news tonight to see that minor male children in town in TX are being charged with sexual assault tonight on the news. Then I see this article. It seems every night on the news its always some gentleman being charged with sexual assault. But, you what my problem is? My teen age son was sexually assaulted by an adult female and I am having the worst run around in the world even trying to get this person into a court room. Being told "well ma'am it may not even go to trial because its going to hard to convince a jury to believe that a female sexually assaulted a male and the law is a 5 years difference" My response was.." First of all sir my son there is less than a 3 year difference and the within the law, who cares what your belief is..sexual assualt is sexual assault, now what is the issue. Can someone explain to me what the issue is? Do you think there should be a difference? Is it the same? Isn't still child molesting?
