WASHINGTON (March 15, 2010)—Maj. Gen. Daniel Bolger, the commander of Fort Hood’s 1st Cavalry Division and of Multi-National Division-Baghdad, has been nominated for promotion to lieutenant general and assignment as deputy chief of staff, the Pentagon said Monday.
Bolger took over command of the division in April 2008 after serving as commanding general of the Joint Readiness and Training Center at Fort Polk, La.
In January, Maj. Gen. Daniel B. Allyn, the deputy commanding general of XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg, was named as the new commander of Fort Hood’s 1st Cavalry Division, to succeed Bolger.
