Fort Hood: Soldier from Texas found dead in post residence

FORT HOOD, Texas (KWTX) Fort Hood Tuesday identified a soldier who was found dead on March 1 in his on-post residence as Pvt. 2nd Class Everett Vassar, 29, of Arlington.

Colton joined the Army in October 2015 and had been assigned since April 2016 to Fort Hood’s 9th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division.

He deployed to Korea from July 2017 through February 2018.

The circumstances surrounding the death are under investigation.

On Feb. 28, Spc. Devon Michael Wulff, 23, of Hicksville, Ohio, was found unresponsive in his on-post residence.

He died on Saturday at Scott & White Medical Center.

He was assigned to Fort Hood’s 12th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division.

His death is also under investigation.
