KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Killeen residents got to hear from candidates on the May ballot Monday night.

A candidate forum was held Monday night at which topics like Killeen’s crime rate, the budget and road improvements were discussed.

Each candidate got a chance to answer questions from a panel of reporters from the Killeen daily Herald.

Killeen residents say they want to see more entertainment for children in the community.

"We used to have a lot of places going on mini golf in those type of things for kids and over the years that just all went away. It's time to take a look at it and see what can you offer the residents and the children so they don't have to leave town," says Killeen resident, Ursula Rushing.

Some of the candidates are running for mayor and others for at-large council members.
