TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) The Temple City Council has approved a $7.1 million contract for the biggest part of the second phase of construction of the 300-acre Crossroads Recreational Complex.

The work includes construction of six lighted tennis courts, a disc golf course, playgrounds, scoreboards, driveways and five lighted parking lots.

The complex is expected to open in the spring of 2019.

The project comes with a price tag of more than $11 million and is part of a $27.6 million parks bond package that voters approved in 2015.
