TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Scott & White Medical Center in Temple had a holiday treat Thursday for the parents with children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Santa and Mrs. Claus stopped by the hospital to take photos with the newborns who are spending the holidays in the hospital.

Robert King worked as a NICU nurse at the hospital for 28 years and for the past three years he's been volunteering as Santa.

He says it's a privilege to be able to do this for the parents who won’t be able to take their children home for the Christmas holiday.

“Well I think it means a lot because Christmas is a tough time for families here in the nursery. When they've got babies in here it makes it, difficult and hopefully we just going to cheer it up and make their Christmas which could be hard, maybe make it a little bit better for them," King said.

King went on to says that it's a privilege to be able to do this for the parents who won’t be able to take their children home for the Christmas holiday.
