Zechariah Baker plans to share his love of the silver screen with the public by re-opening the historic Beltonian Theatre.

For the past few days, Zechariah has been hard at work renovating the 100-year-old theater.

“I worked in a movie theater for almost four years and four years ago we saw the Beltonian was available and everything just kinds of clicked right then,” he said.

The theater will feature classic black and white movies, musicals, cult classics and live music events.

“We want to bring back that nostalgia, Baker said.

“We want to give them the same experience that they had when they were growing up.”

A walk around the theater, with its period furniture, is a blast from the past, but there are obvious modern electronic upgrades.

“Since the theater dates from the 20’s, I’ve been able to purchase chairs that date back from 1920,” Baker said.

Baker says he wants people to take away memories that will live on forever.

“We want to provide a local family environment that people can enjoy and make a habit of coming to over and over. We want people to have that experience something special.”

The doors of the Beltonian are set to open officially on Nov. 3.
