(January 24, 2008)--After undergoing a series of cancer surgeries, film critic Roger Ebert says he'll have yet another operation this week.

According to a statement in the Chicago Sun-Times, the surgery in Houston is to address complications from previous operations. Ebert didn't elaborate.

Ebert has been a Sun-Times film critic for more than 40 years.

His previous surgeries include a tracheotomy that's left him unable to speak.

Although he's been unable to appear on "At the Movies with Ebert & Roeper," Ebert has been writing reviews regularly.

He says he's written several advance reviews and other columns to appear while he recuperates.
