(January 25, 2008)--Film critic Roger Ebert who has had a series of cancer surgeries is recovering after another operation, this one in Houston.

His lawyer says Ebert had successful surgery Thursday to address complications from previous operations and the procedure went well.

Eliot Ephraim did not provide details.

Ebert has been a film critic at the Chicago Sun-Times for more than 40 years.

The 65-year-old has undergone a series of operations, including the removal of a growth on his salivary gland.
