(April 15, 2008)--First Lady Laura Bush appear on the "Today" show not as a guest, but as a "guest host” next week.

NBC says Bush will host the 8 a.m. CDT hour next Tuesday.

The network says she will take part in several segments and interviews and that her daughter, Jenna will join her during the show.

The two have written a children's book, titled "Read All About It!"

Laura Bush will also give "Today" co-host Ann Curry a tour of the Bush family ranch outside of Crawford.

The first lady is hosting the day of the Pennsylvania presidential primary, but by that hour of the four-hour "Today" show, politics usually makes way for other issues.
