Amy Poehler To Leave SNL For “The Office” Spinoff Save Email Print

(July 17, 2008)—Amy Poehler of “Saturday Night Live” says she'll be joining NBC's spinoff of "The
Office."

She told The Associated Press that she can confirm that she'll be "working in some capacity on that show" but says she doesn't have any other details yet.

Poehler has been in negotiations with NBC about the show and says "it's been quite a week."

She said she's "very excited about all the good stuff that's coming down the pike."

Poehler is also pregnant and due to deliver in October.

She plans to be part of the expanded fall schedule for "Saturday Night Live" during the election, but says that what happens in the spring isn't clear.

She's nominated for an Emmy for outstanding actress in a comedy series, and her husband, Will Arnett, also received a nod Thursday for his guest performance on "30 Rock."
