Batman Star Freed On Bond After Arrest Save Email Print

A | A | A

(July 22, 2008)--Batman star Christian Bale, 34, was free on bond Tuesday after spending four hours at a London police station after his arrest in connection with allegations that he assaulted two members of his family.

British media reported that Bale's mother and sister complained he had assaulted them at the Dorchester Hotel in London on Sunday night, a day before the European premiere of his film "The Dark Knight."

The Sun newspaper says police didn't question the actor Monday because they didn't want to interfere with the premiere.

Police didn't refer to Bale by name but issued a statement that said the man they arrested was told to return on an unspecified date in September.
