(July 24, 2008)—Vince Gill heads out on a major U.S. tour next month, accompanied only by a pianist and a percussionist.
The tour is billed as "A Special Acoustic Evening With Vince Gill."
Gill says fans will hear his most notable songs, some new material and a bunch of stories.
This back to basics is a change for Gill, who toured with a 17-piece band when he hit the road in 2006 and 2007.
He said he wanted to do something different this year.
He said he got the idea after seeing James Taylor on tour with a sort of one-man band show.
“I'm going to tour basically the same way -- pared down and informal."
Gill's tour starts August 18 in Wellington, Ohio, and wraps up November 24th in Alexandria, Va.
