WACO, Texas—The sounds of smooth jazz are coming to Heritage Square August 31st, with Jazz in the Square, presented by Sterling Trust Company.
A portion of the proceeds from this exciting event will also benefit the Make A Wish Foundation to grant the wishes of children in McLennan County.
An all-star lineup is scheduled to perform from 4:00 p.m. until approximately 10:30 p.m., headlined by: Joey Sommerville, a Grammy-nominated trumpeter; Eric Essix, an Alabama native who brings a trademark “southerness” to his style; Alex Bugnon, a sultry
pianist hailing from Montreux, Switzerland; and Althea Renee, one of the nation’s most exciting improvisational flautists. Additional artists include Elephants, a group that has performed with legends The Temptations, New Jersey native Joseph Vincelli, criticallyacclaimed
Dallas songstress Bregget Rideau, Waco family man Classie Ballou, Texas Panhandle legend Buster Brown Band, and area acoustic trio Mustard Seed.
General Admission tickets are $35 at the gate or $30 in advance at the Waco Hippodrome Box office or online at www.wacoperformingarts.com.
Great food from Rosati’s Pizza, Olive branch, Outback Steakhouse, Green Room Grille and Vitek’s BBQ will be available all night, along with three full bars.
VIP tickets are $1,000 per eight-person table or $125 per person, and patrons will receive access to the VIP Chill Room inside the Greater Waco Chamber Building, an exclusive performance by Mustard Seed, reserved parking, a thank-you bag, and complimentary food and beverages provided by Green Room Grille and Square Bar &
Kitchen.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets to enjoy the festival, though rental chairs will be available, and to bring cash, as credit cards will not be accepted.
Additionally, an ID is required and should be carried at all times while at the venue.
