(September 19, 2008)--Reba McEntire will be presented with the ASCAP Golden Note Award during a ceremony next month in Nashville.
The performing rights organization gives the award to songwriters, composers and artists who have achieved extraordinary career milestones.
Previous recipients of the award include Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Tom Petty and Michael W. Smith.
The event will also honor the songwriters and publishers of ASCAP's most performed country songs of the past year.
Special awards will be given to "Songwriter of the Year," "Songwriter/Artist of the Year," "Song of the Year" and "Publisher of the Year."
