(October 6, 2008)--Dierks Bentley is a new dad.
People.com reports that Bentley and his wife Cassidy are welcoming their first child.
The baby was born just before midnight Saturday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where the couple lives.
The site reports the baby was delivered with a midwife lending a helping hand.
The child's name is Evalyn Day Bentley and the new parents say they plan to call her "Evie."
They got the first name from the baby's grandma on the mother's side.
As for a middle name, Bentley says they chose "Day" because "it's a hopeful word."
Bentley says his new daughter "is the most beautiful little girl you have ever seen."
The Bentleys first met way back when they both teenagers in Phoenix.
