(October 14, 2008)—Surviving members of the veteran rock band The Grateful Dead have put on a show in a basketball arena in support of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Four surviving members of the group performed Monday night on the Penn State University campus in front of a crowd of 15,000.

Bob Weir, Phil Lesh and Mickey Hart played together in support of Obama back in February.

Bill Kreutzmann joined them Monday night for their first show together since their 2004 reunion tour.

Hart says he believes in Obama enough for him to get up in front of Deadheads and declare his support and he says that's something the group doesn't take lightly.

"Get your butt out of bed and get to the polls,” was his message to fans.
