(Press release)
Central Texas’ own band Slickfist is among a diverse group of independent musicians named as finalists of the 8th Annual Independent Music Awards. With Bill Lutz on vocals, Chris Farrell on bass and backing vocals, Lee Williams on lead guitar and backing vocals, and Tommy Gidley on drums, Slickfist brings explosive energy to their live shows.
Power packed guitar riffs and driving low-end showcase their raw back to basics sound.
They are like nothing you have ever heard or seen before.
Subharmonic Addiction, Slickfist’s current offering was produced by multi-platinum recording artist Bobby Blotzer of RATT.
Finalists are chose on artist merit alone. Record sales and merit marketing campaigns have no impact on judges’ decisions. IMA is dedicated to helping indie artists and releases overcome mainstream obstacles and reach wider audiences.
Judges who will determine this year’s IMA winners include: Peter Gabriel, Roger Daltry, Steve Vai, Keith Urban, George Jones, Zakk Wylde, Rick Springfield, Anthony DeCurtis (Rolling Stone), and Joe Cuello (MTV) any many others.
IMA finalists will now advance to the final round of judging. Winners will be announced in December. Visit www.independentmusicawards.com
