Kenny Chesney Dismisses Gay Rumor, Explains Annulled Marriage
In a new interview, Kenny Chesney dismisses rumors he’s gay and explains his short-lived marriage to Renee Zellweger.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 11, 2009)--Kenny Chesney tells Playboy magazine that he's definitely not gay and has well over 100 women who could attest to that.

He said his first five years on the road were intense because he "was the guy in college who never got laid" until he started playing guitar.

The gay rumor started after Renee Zellweger filed for an annulment after four months of marriage, claiming "fraud."

Chesney said the legal papers could claim either physical abuse, mental abuse or three or four other things that weren't true.

He told Playboy that the real reason for their split was because he didn't know how to commit to both music and marriage, so he "panicked."

He said the paparazzi and attention became too intense and he did the only thing he knew to do; he "pushed her away" and ran.
