Bell County Symphonic Band Presents POPS Concert
The Bell County Symphonic Band will present a POPS Concert on Tuesday, February 24, at First Baptist Church in Salado.

Belton, Texas – The Bell County Symphonic Band will present a POPS Concert on Tuesday, February 24, at First Baptist Church in Salado at 7:30 pm. The concert is free and open to the public.

The concert program will include “Friend Like Me” from Aladdin, arranged by Jay Bocook; Beauty and the Beast Highlights arranged by John Moss; The Magic of Andrew Lloyd Webber arranged by Warren Barker; West Side Story arranged by Jay Bocook; The King of Rock and Roll arranged by John Edmondson; Feelings arranged by Dave Wolpe; “Tara Theme” from Gone With the Wind arranged by James Curnow; and Motown Revue arranged by Paul Murtha.

The Bell County Symphonic Band is comprised of community members from throughout Bell County and the surrounding area and is organized and directed by James Whitis, Director of Instrumental Activities at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

The ensemble is one of many that operate through the Conservatory of Music at UMHB. The mission of the group is to provide a performance ensemble for those instrumentalists that have a lifelong love of making music, in particular band music, and wanted to actively be involved in the process. The members come from all walks of life. There are university professors and staff, public school teachers, university students, high school students, doctors, retirees and other community members.
