TORONTO (February 25, 2009)--Singer-guitarist Steven Page has left Barenaked Ladies.
The band's Web site says Page will pursue solo projects and theatrical opportunities.
Page says the rest of the members of the band are his brothers and he wishes them the best.
Singer Ed Robertson says it's the start of a new chapter for all of them.
Barenaked Ladies will continue to record and tour without Page.
Page, his girlfriend and her roommate were charged with drug possession in July after police found cocaine at an apartment in New York State.
They secured a deal to have charges dropped if they stay out of trouble for six months.
