Belton, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor College of Visual and Performing Arts presents soprano, Julie Atwood, in recital on Tuesday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. in Hughes Recital Hall. She will be accompanied by pianist Nelda Milligan. The recital is free and open to the public and will feature songs and arias by Bellini, Chaminade, Dvořák, Händel, Lekberg, Puccini, Schubert, and Rossini.
Mrs. Atwood is a 1976 graduate of Skyview High School in Smithfield, UT. She is the recipient of an Associates Degree in Arts & Sciences from Brigham Young University/Idaho. Mrs. Atwood is the wife of Mr. Jay Atwood of Temple. She is a senior music performance major at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and a member of the UMHB Opera Theatre program. Mrs. Atwood also enjoys a successful private voice studio in Temple where she teaches many local high school students. She is the voice student of George Hogan, assistant professor of music.
