Second Half Of New Orleans Jazz Fest Underway

NEW ORLEANS (April 30, 2009)--Rock musician Ben Harper and country singer Emmylou Harris take the stage Thursday for the second half of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
Soul singers Marva Wright and Solomon Burke, singer and violinist Theresa Andersson and the Little Freddie King Blues Band are also set to perform Thursday.
Jazz singer Tony Bennett, who is scheduled to perform Friday, was expected to spend Thursday afternoon at a New Orleans school where he and his wife, Susan, are presenting students with musical instruments.
The couple is donating to the KIPP Believe College Prep Academy, a public charter school in New Orleans that offers free and open enrollment.
