NEW ORLEANS (May 2, 2009)--The rock group Bon Jovi is slated to make its debut at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival Saturday.
The group known for such hits as "Livin' on a Prayer" and "Bad Medicine" helped the Bayou Area Habitat for Humanity build homes in south Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the region in August 2005.
Habitat volunteers in Houma will build a home on Bon Jovi Boulevard on Monday with money from the singer's charity, The Philadelphia Soul Charitable Foundation.
Other acts at Jazz Fest on Saturday include Dr. John, Cowboy Mouth, Kings of Leon and The O'Jays.
Neil Young, The Radiators, Allen Toussaint and The Neville Brothers will close the festival Sunday.
