NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 15, 2009)--Al Green was among those who lit up the stage at the Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee.
He performed several of his classic hits, including "Let's Stay Together" and showed himself still able to reach the high notes, even at age 63.
Not only did he still have his voice working, he maintained the stage presence that has been a trademark of his career.
He tossed roses to the fans and at one point, climbed down from the stage to party with the crowd.
As he did, he told security or the "yellow shirts" as he called them to chill out.
"We didn't come out there to hurt nobody. We came to love," he said.
Other acts influenced by Green's music also performed at Bonnaroo, including Raphael Saadiq, Snoop Dogg and Erykah Badu.
