LOS ANGELES (June 29, 2009)--BET Awards show producers managed to weave in a bit of Michael Jackson into just about every minute of the broadcast Sunday night.

Besides the direct tributes, even when performers were doing their own material, they make it clear that Jackson inspired much of what they did.

While Keri Hilson performed, chants of "Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson" were heard from the audience.

When Jamie Foxx performed his hit "Blame It," he worked in part of the Jackson' hit "Blame It On the Boogie."

Foxx also wore several of the outfits Jackson made famous in his videos, including a red leather jacket from "Beat It" and the black leather outfit from "Billie Jean."

New Edition performed several of the Jackson 5's biggest hits.

Ciara sang "Heal the World" in a jacket that had epaulets on the shoulders, just as many of Jackson's did.

When Beyonce won her award for best female R&B artist, she held up her trophy and said: "This is for you, Michael Jackson."

When Lil Wayne got his award for best male hip-hop star, he said: "We all know none of us in this in this room wouldn't be here for Michael Jackson."

When LeBron James won for best male athlete, he said his "heart and prayers go out to the whole Jackson family."

"Soul Train" founder Don Cornelius, making a rare appearance on TV, said his thoughts were with the Jackson family.

And even as they received a lifetime achievement honor at the BET Awards, lead singer of the O'Jays Eddie Levert talked about how much he'd miss Jackson.
