CAMROSE, Alberta (August 06, 2009)-It was a close call Saturday for Kevin Costner and his band Modern West at the Big Valley Jamboree, a Canadian music festival in Alberta.

Costner and the band were getting ready to perform when the stage collapsed.

One person was killed and about 75 others were injured in Saturday’s accident.

Both Costner and his manager were caught underneath the stage, but managed to escape injury.

Costner’s manager said they "wiggled" their way out.

The last day of the festival was canceled following the tragedy.

The Big Valley Jamboree is billed as Canada's largest country music festival.
