LOS ANGELES (August 25, 2009)—Texas country music legend Willie Nelson’s new album, "American Classic," has a double meaning.
Nelson, of course, is an American classic, but also the songs on the album are classic standards with a jazz feel.
For example, on one track, he and fellow Texan Norah Jones sing "Baby It's Cold Outside."
And he has rerecorded "Always on My Mind" with a jazzy feel.
Nelson performed some of the songs at a concert in a bar on the Hana Highway in Maui called Charley's Restaurant and Saloon.
