LOS ANGELES (September 7, 2009)--Tyra Banks is getting back to her roots for the season debut of her TV talk show—literally.
On Tuesday's fifth-season premiere of "The Tyra Show," the former supermodel will take the stage with her real hair, which means, Banks says, no wigs and no extensions.
A hairdresser will style Banks' tresses on-camera as she interviews women who have insecurities about their natural hair.
Banks said it's part of her effort to help redefine beauty for women and help them appreciate what they have, inside and out.
Her show moves from syndication to the CW network for its new season, airing weekday afternoons at 4 p.m. EDT.
Her modeling contest, "America's Next Top Model," begins its 13th run on Wednesday, also on the CW network.
