ACL Kicks Off New Season This Weekend
Austin City Limits kicks off its new season this weekend.

AUSTIN (October 1, 2009)--The new season of the PBS music show "Austin City Limits" is kicks off this weekend with a performance by the Dave Matthews Band.

The launch Saturday of the show's 35th anniversary season coincides with the annual Austin City Limits Music Festival, which runs Friday through Sunday in Austin's Zilker Park.

This is the first time the Dave Matthews Band has performed on the show.

The band will play songs from its latest release, "Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King."

Others appearing this season are Kenny Chesney, Elvis Costello, Pearl Jam, Steve Earle, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Asleep at the Wheel.

ACL will host its first hip-hop episode this season with rapper Mos Def and the Somali-Canadian rapper and poet K'Naan on Jan. 16.
