ATLANTA (October 11, 2009)—Imprisoned rapper T.I. didn't need to attend the BET Hip-Hop Awards to take home two trophies.

T.I., who is locked up in an Arkansas penitentiary on a federal weapons conviction, won for best collaboration and CD of the year.

His fiancée Tameka "Tiny" Cottle accepted his awards at the ceremony in Atlanta on Saturday.

Jay-Z was honored as the "MVP of the Year," while Ice Cube received the "I Am Hip-Hop" icon award.

Kanye West was a no-show.

West had been expected to attend the fourth annual awards show.

He fell under scrutiny for interrupting Taylor Swift's award-winning moment at last month's MTV Video Music Awards.

The award show will air on Oct. 27.

BET is a joke. A "network" that honors punks and street thugs belongs on the fringe of the TV channels...out amongst the stations featuring big-haired evangelists who steal money from old people, and late-night salesmen hawking NASCAR knives and Elvis plates. Enjoy your little trophy, T.I. Your cellmates are SO jealous.
