(November 11, 2013)--Today on KWTX News 10 at Noon, we made some "Texas Cabbage Slaw".
Here is the recipe:
TEXAS CABBAGE SLAW
1 large head of napa cabbage
1 bunch of green onions
1 large bell pepper
2 pkgs crushed chicken-flavored Ramen soup noodles
¾ cup slivered almonds
½ cup sesame seeds
2 TBLspns butter
Chop and mix cabbage, onions, and bell pepper. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Brown crushed noodles, almonds and sesame seeds in butter.
Cool mixture in refrigerator until ready to use.
Sprinkle with dry chicken soup flavor packets and stir all into the noodle mixture.
Combine well with cabbage/onion/bell pepper mix.
1 cup vegetable oil
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup rice wine vinegar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
Blend well and pour over slaw.
