TEMPLE (March 22, 2013) - Jayln Martin has been diagnosed with brain cancer.
She is 6-years-old and has stage 4 DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) cancer.
Because of the aggressiveness of the cancer, doctors are telling Nick and Kristi Martin that Jayln has 8 months to live.
Jayln begins chemo and radiation treatment Monday, March 25.
Her parents are both on medical leave to care for Jayln and currently have no steady income.
The family has moved from Moody to Temple to be closer to Scott & White Hospital for treatment.
Two fundraisers coming up this weekend to help pay for Jayln Martin's medical expenses:
- Saturday, March 23, Silent Auction at Moffat Community Center, 13410 Kuykendall Mountain Road, Temple. Proceeds benefit 6-year-old Jayln Martin who has stage 4 brain cancer. A meal is scheduled from 11:00 am-2:00 pm with the silent auction immediately following from 2:00-5:00 pm.
- Saturday and Sunday, March 23 and 24, Benefit Yard and Baked Goods Sale at 3919 Walden Creek Crossing, Harker Heights.
