(August 23, 2011) - 14 Speegleville Elementary teachers are working late Tuesday night putting up bulletin boards and sorting supplies for the first day of school.

They and 250 kindergarten through fourth graders found out two weeks ago they are reassigned to attend River Valley Intermediate.

That's after a fire tore through Speegleville Elementary's kindergarten wing early in the morning on August 9th.

Smoke and water damage forced the change in buildings.

School starts Wednesday, August 24th, and the Midway I.S.D. Transportation Department worked till Tuesday afternoon to finalize new bus routes to take children to River Valley.
