WACO (June 15, 2013) -- The Heart of Texas Chapter of the American Red Cross held a free training session for volunteers Friday and Saturday in Waco.
Coming off their response in West, the Red Cross said they need volunteers now more than ever.
Training participants learned the basics of assisting residents after a disaster.
Training is free and open to the public.
The American Red Cross reminds us we are currently in both tornado and hurricane season.
Training is required for anyone wanting to volunteer with the American Red Cross.
Another training session will be held June 28 and June 29 in Killeen.
