WEST (June 24, 2013) -- The West City Council met Monday to approve tax changes for residents.
According to West Mayor Pro Tem Steve Vanek, the council voted to begin reappraising homes and businesses damaged or destroyed in the April 17 fertilizer plant explosion.
With the vote, some residents could end up paying less in property taxes.
Many homes and businesses in the city are no longer worth what they once were before the explosion.
