At approximately 2 p.m., Soldiers from the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, discovered four rocket-propelled grenades, two RPG launchers, three rifles, approximately 338 rounds of ammunition, and an indirect fire sight device in the Zubaida community. An EOD unit responded and moved the items to a CF base.

Meanwhile at approximately 2:15 p.m., police from the 5th Brigade, 2nd National Police Division, discovered an RPG launcher and an 82mm mortar round in the Risalah community. The patrol transported the items to a combat outpost and turned them over to 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div.

“These Soldiers are outside the wire every day patrolling the streets to provide a safe and secure environment for the Iraqi people,” said Maj. Dave Olson, 1st BCT Spokesman, 4th Inf.
