Officials Release Name Of Soldier Found Dead Save Email Print

(July 31, 2008)—Fort Hood officials have released the name of a soldier who was found dead, Tuesday.

Spc. Donald James Scott Jr., 28, of Boyceville, Wisconsin was found dead on a training area on Fort Hood.

Scott joined the Army November 1999 and was assigned to the 582nd Medical Logistics Company, 61st Multifunctional Medical Battalion, 1st Medical Brigade, 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), since December 2005 where he served as a Biomedical Equipment Specialist.

Specialist Scott deployed in support of Operation Iraqi/Enduring Freedom in 2003.

Specialist Donald Scott’s awards and decorations include the Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon.

The incident remained under investigation Thursday.

To the "A Military Wife Location: Texas on Jul 30, 2008 at 05:19 PM" ...who posted on the other comment about this soldier saying ..."The ones that tend to get left behind or die from 'friendly fire' are usually the ones that don't have a clue and cause the company more problems then anyone" ....NOW YOU MAY OPEN MOUTH AND INSERT FOOT!!! May God be with the family and friends of this HERO.

Something I appreciate about this article is that it focused alot on what Spc. Scott achieved during his term with the military and did for his country. Our soldiers should receive so much more recognition than they do. It is sad day when this world loses someone like Spc. Scott. God Bless his family.
