GATESVILLE (March 5, 2010)—Brance Lyle Spencer of Mound was in the Coryell County Jail Friday, charged with possession of marijuana over 5 pounds, but less than 50 pounds, after the U.S. Postal Inspection Service discovered a package containing eight pounds of marijuana that was mailed to an address in Coryell County.
The pot has an estimated street value of $19,000, authorities said Friday.
Postal inspectors advised the Coryell County Sheriff’s Office of the shipment and requested delivery of the package.
On Thursday, two Postal Service inspectors, Coryell County deputies and Texas Rangers staked out the U.S. Post Office in Mound to wait for someone to pick up the parcel.
Spencer was arrested shortly after 5 p.m.
His bond was set at $25,000, authorities said.

To A friend: Well said, Brance helped me out MANY times! He is a great guy with a good head on his shoulders. So who narc'd him out? I've got my suspicions, but I'm not saying names because I don't know for sure. The thing is someone had to have sold him up the river on this one to save their own hide. The narc will surface and he will get his. To everyone else: G'ville cops are in on the meth/dope game so don't expect that to stop any time soon. It has been that way since before Gerald Kitchens and will stay that way as long as pot is illegal. Why else would they know about the main players in the meth/dope game for years and not take them down?
Legalize it , Regulate it , TAX IT
